Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy is a powerful, holistic, healing modality that is becoming more mainstream in the world of integrative medicine. Unlike conventional medical care, Yoga Therapy addresses the whole person at a fully integrative level – body, mind, emotions, lifestyle and spirit. Rather than generically treating a diagnosis, symptom or disease, Yoga Therapy emphasizes a client-driven approach to healing.

As a Yoga Therapist, I am passionately committed to supporting my client’s wellness journey by empowering their healing process and transforming a difficult health challenge into a positive, new way of living.

No matter how great or painful your personal health challenge may be, I am committed to helping you find more comfort, hope and healing in your body, mind and life.

After reviewing the Yoga Therapy packages available at Healing Through Yoga, I welcome you to connect with me for a complimentary phone consultation so that we can determine how best to meet your health goals and needs.

I am only a breath, stretch and call away.

The body has intrinsic wisdom and the capacity to heal.

What is Yoga Therapy?

More and more people are turning to alternative forms of care to treat a wide variety of health problems, from stress and anxiety issues to back pain and life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and heart disease. In response, the field of Yoga Therapy has been expanding. A holistic approach, Yoga Therapy promotes wellness, offers a form of preventive care, and facilitates improved functioning of the body’s own healing system at all levels. In essence, Yoga Therapy is a client-centered, personalized approach for managing, improving and inspiring health and overall wellness.

According to the International Association of Yoga Therapists:

“Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga.”

The role of the Yoga Therapist is to listen to, support and empower the client, while co-creating a targeted wellness plan that provides balanced healing at all levels.

Therapeutic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, meditation, mindfulness-based life coaching, nutritional guidance and health coaching, and stress management tools may be used within the program to support a whole-health wellness solution.

Often times, the Yoga Therapist and client will work in conjunction with other healthcare providers, creating a health team, which in turn advances the whole healing process.

Yoga Therapy Packages

Yoga Therapy packages are designed to heal at every level – body, mind, emotions and spirit. Plans vary by individual and include a range of tools. For example, breathing exercises establish a calm, centered state of mind and balance the nervous system. Physical movements are used to increase circulation, reduce inflammation and pain, and build symmetry, strength and healthy musculature. Relaxation techniques rejuvenate the body, reduce stress and restore vitality. Mindfulness practices help us to examine the foods, thoughts and lifestyle choices that might need change to bring about healing and lasting wellness. Sliding scale needs and unique payment plans are honored on an individual basis. Please inquire.

Beth’s Yoga Therapy has helped me more than any other treatment I have received. Four years ago, I had a lumbar spine fusion that did not go well, resulting in high pain and other health complications. After years of suffering, I found Beth. She did a full evaluation of my problems and designed a specific yoga practice to address my areas of pain, weakness, and tightness. She understood more about the total human body than my doctors and other specialists. I have made significant progress since meeting Beth, and we have recently re-evaluated and fine-tuned my practice to continue my healing.
